Consult, Collaborate, Coach: BE A MENTOR!
Alumni mentors can provide students with unique and meaningful support. They understand what it is like to study at Osgoode and what to expect in life after law school. Both alumni and student have experienced a greater stronger sense of community and to have fostered meaningful relationships.
This popular program matches students with an Osgoode alumnus of their choice in an effort to develop mentoring relationships in which career related advice can be provided. While we encourage you to meet in person at least once each term, where, when and what you discuss is left to your mutual discretion. Meetings can be informal and mentors can specify whether they prefer to mentor solely via email or phone.
Students who have participated in previous years have found it extremely helpful to have this opportunity to discuss topics including the articling process, career opportunities, the advantages and disadvantages of different types of practice, and course selection with someone familiar with the practice of law.
