Our Mission
Community and Legal Aid Services Programme is an inter-disciplinary Student Legal Aid Services Society committed to the realization of social justice through:
Education - An opportunity for students to participate in experiential learning in a diverse clinical setting where students acquire, develop and apply knowledge, skills and values as critical, reflective practitioners.
Advocacy - Working with people with low incomes to represent and advance their interests before courts, administrative bodies and bureaucracies. In addition, recognizing the adverse impact that laws or their application have on marginalized communities and pursuing change through a broad spectrum of initiatives.
Community - Engaging collaboratively with communities, with an emphasis on those that are marginalized, in collective dialogue, process and action towards creating social change, challenging oppression and removing the barriers that prevent people from fully participating in the issues that affect their lives.
