Law in Action within Schools Program (LAWS)

A partnership between the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), LAWS is an innovative, collaborative academic and extracurricular education program aimed at high school students who face challenges in staying engaged in school and in accessing postsecondary education.

LAWS, which has offices at both U of T and Osgoode, has four staff who deliver LAWS programming by collaborating with more than 45 TDSB principals, teachers and guidance counsellors, and over 250 volunteers (law students, professors, lawyers, and other members of the justice sector).

Launched in 2005, LAWS currently works with six partner high schools: Central Technical School, Harbord Collegiate Institute, Monarch Park Collegiate, CW Jefferys Collegiate Institute, Westview Centennial Secondary School and Danforth Collegiate & Technical Institute.

A new LAWS website will be coming soon.  View the video of the LAWS Launch at CW Jefferys Collegiate Institute on September 20, 2011.
