Program Selection

2013/14

Osgoode's Clinical & Intensive Programs are applied to in January/February of the year preceding the program offered. The process begins with an information session held in Moot Court on the third Wednesday in January where the Program Directors give on overview of their program and are then available to answer questions.

On the day of the Information session the Clinical and Intensives Programs Applications link will be live in the MyOsgoode under Quick links.

Applications for the 2013/2014 Academic year will be open from January 23, 2013 to January 31, 2013.

Applications will only be accepted on line through MyOsgoode. Please see the table below for the Application Timeline:

You may email your decision to ntucci@osgoode.yorku.ca but MUST submit your circled and signed Accept/Decline in printed and signed hard copy to the drop box in 1012 IKB, Osgoode Student Services Office by the deadline date.

Complete all personal information on the first page of the application:

  • This information will be used for all programs
  • Changes can be made to this information until the application deadline.
  • Continue to individual program applications.
  • Students may apply for as many programs as they wish, but may only participate in one program per term and as governed by the Academic Rules of Osgoode Hall Law School.

Each program has specific application requirements:

  • A resume is required by all programs
  • Programs requesting reference letters will accept those letters by mail, fax or email sent to the director or to Natia Tucci

Applications for the next academic year (2013-2014) will be taken in January 2013 for the following Clinical and Intensive programs:

  • Aboriginal Lands, Resources & Governments
  • Advanced Business Law Workshop I – Corporate Finance & Governance
  • Advanced Business Law Workshop II – Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Anti-Discrimination Intensive Program
  • Business Law Intensive
  • Community Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP)
  • Criminal Law
  • Disability Law Intensive
  • Innocence Project
  • Intellectual Property & Technology Law Intensive Program
  • Mediation Clinic Intensive
  • Osgoode Business Clinic
  • Poverty Law at Parkdale Community Legal Services

Each program has its own selection criteria and procedures.

Students should only apply for up to four (4) programs, but may (in most cases) only participate in one program.

Participation in more then one 15-credit intensive program requires permission from the Associate Dean and is a very rare occurrence.

Summer employment may be available with Parkdale Community Legal Services, CLASP, the Innocence Project and the Anti-Discrimination Intensive Program for the summer of 2011. Please be aware that accepting a summer job commits you to participating in the program in the following academic year.
