ID Clinic

The ID Clinic helps eligible individuals obtain the identification documents needed to receive social services, healthcare, and to submit immigration applications. Law students assist clients with the application process for the following government identification documents:

  • Canadian Citizenship Certificate
  • Canadian or Foreign Birth Certificates*
  • Canadian Immigration Documents
  • Canadian or Foreign Passports*
  • Ontario Photo ID Card
  • Ontario Health Card
  • Verification of Status

* Please note: the success of receiving foreign documentation is highly dependent on the participation of the originating country.

The ID Clinic accepts applications through the main CLASP intake desk on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. You may apply by visiting us at the CLASP Office on the York University campus or calling CLASP at (416) 736-5029. CLASP also operates intakes sites in the community – call to find out more.

If you attend the office, please bring ALL pieces of identification that you have, current or expired, including bills showing their name and address.

ID clinic cases are subject to CLASP’s geographic and financial screening criteria.
