Osgoode prides itself on being a leading research-intensive law school and there's no doubt that the scholarly output of our faculty and students is remarkable. I want to congratulate Professors Stephanie Ben-Ishai, Allan Hutchinson and Obiora Okafor on their success in receiving research funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. You can read about their ambitious research projects on our Research Web site.
While you’re there, take a few minutes to check out the Graduate Student News. Among the many student achievements listed is the terrific news that PhD student Basil Ugochukwu has been awarded the 2010 Osgoode Walter Williston Prize in Civil Liberties for his paper entitled “Africanizing” Human Rights in Africa: Nigeria and Kenya Constitutions in Context.
