Ann C. Nelson

LLB (Osgoode) 1978.  C. Ann Nelson was called to the Bar in 1980.  Until July 2008, she was a sole practitioner in Toronto practising exclusively in the area of family law, primarily as a collaborative practitioner. She was an instructor for the Bar Admission Course for many years and a presenter of CLE programs for the Law Society of Upper Canada.  Justice Nelson was a member of the Child Representation Panel for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and a Hearing Officer for the Child Abuse Register. She was a founding member and director of the Toronto Collaborative Practice Group. She is a co-author of the annual Annotated Ontario Children’s Law Reform Act (published by Carswell).  She was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice in July 2008 and presides in Brampton, Ontario.
