Brian Gover
BA, LLB (Western Ontario), JD (Toronto), of the Bar of Ontario
Brian Gover was called to the Ontario Bar in 1983 and is a partner with Stockwoods LLP. Brian began his career at the Crown Law Office-Criminal, representing the Crown in the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as conducting special prosecutions. Brian was the first Executive Legal Officer to what is now known as the Superior Court of Justice. Since joining Stockwoods LLP in 1994, Brian has conducted a varied litigation practice, including administrative, civil and criminal litigation. He was commission counsel to the Walkerton Inquiry and the Arar Commission, represented the Office of the Chief Coroner and associated individuals at the Pediatric Forensic Pathology Inquiry and is senior counsel to the Air India inquiry. Brian is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Brian is a guest instructor at the faculties of law at the University of Toronto and the University of Windsor, teaches the Trial Practice course at Osgoode Hall Law School and has been an adjunct professor at the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Law and an instructor at the Bar Admission Course.
