Emily Morton graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto in 2002 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2003 after completing articles of clerkship for the Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Ms. Morton currently practices criminal law in a chambers setting in Toronto. Prior to this, Ms. Morton worked as an associate lawyer at Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP in New York City and at Ruby & Edwardh in Toronto. Ms. Morton is a co-author for the Supreme Court of Canada Law Review chapter on updates in the law of criminal procedure and assisted as a lecturer in the Evidence course at Osgoode Hall Law School in the 2009 winter term.
