Julia S. Shin Doi

Ms. Shin Doi has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty since 2001. Ms. Shin Doi teaches Legal Drafting and is the past Director of the Osgoode Business Clinic and past Assistant Director of the Part-time LL.M. program in Business Law.
Ms. Shin Doi practises corporate/commercial law and intellectual property law in the Office of the Counsel at York University. She specializes in the commercialization of intellectual property and handles privacy law and research contract matters for the University. Prior to joining the University, Ms. Shin Doi was Associate General Counsel of IMAX Corporation and a member of the law firm, Gowlings.
Ms. Shin Doi has published and presented in the areas of contracts and intellectual property. She is the co-author of the leading Canadian text on drafting boilerplate contract clauses, Behind and Beyond Boilerplate: Drafting Commercial Agreements (Carswell). She holds a B.A. with Distinction, from University of Toronto (1989) and LL.B. and LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School (1992, 2007), is called to the Ontario Bar (1994), and is also a Registered Trade-mark Agent (2006).
