Mercedes Perez is a lawyer with Swadron Associates where she is involved in civil litigation and administrative law; trial, appellate and judicial review work; mediations; legal opinions; and quasi criminal cases. She specializes in police and correctional abuse, habeas corpus applications, constitutional litigation under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, mental health/ capacity law, disability rights, civil sexual assault, and freedom of information and privacy matters.

Ms Pererz is a member of the Mental Health Legal Committee and was a delegate with Voices on the Border in February 2010.
