Owen Rees

Mr. Rees is a partner of Stockwoods LLP, whose practice focuses on administrative and civil litigation, as well as select criminal matters. He has a particular interest in public law and regulatory proceedings. He has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario and in the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Rees has taught administrative law as a college lecturer at the University of Oxford and as adjunct faculty at Queen’s University, Faculty of Law.  He clerked for Mr. Justice LeBel of the Supreme Court of Canada in 2003-2004. Mr. Rees was co-founder and Executive Director of the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute (2006-2011), which assists counsel appearing before the Supreme Court of Canada. He is counsel to Amnesty International on matters relating to national security and human rights, and he is a member of Legal Aid Ontario's Group Applications and Test Cases Committee.
