Simon Archer

Simon Archer is a member of the Koskie Minsky Pension and Benefits Practice Group. He was a Senior Research Associate with the Ontario Expert Commission on Pensions, and is a Research Fellow of the Centre for Comparative Research in Law and Political Economy at York University.
Mr. Archer is a former member of the Pension Executive Committee and member of the Securities Sub-Committee of the Ontario Bar Association. He has been Adjunct Faculty at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Department of Political Science, York University, and Adjunct Faculty at the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Archer served as Clerk to the Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario and researcher for the Law Commission of Canada. He has published and spoken in the areas of pension and benefits, financial institutions, capital markets and corporate governance.
Mr. Archer’s strengths include a background in research and policy and a focus on investments and governance issues in pension plans. Recent work for clients involved policy and law reform submissions, advising a major professional association on innovative pension plan development, and advising the Board of Trustees of a national pension plan.
