Osgoode Hall Law School,

Barbara C. Scott Legal Fiction Collection

The Osgoode Hall Law School Library maintains the Barbara C. Scott Fiction Collection, a modest collection of "legal fiction", broadly interpreted. It includes both novels (crime novels, mystery, police procedurals, etc.) and a great collection of documentary and feature films on DVD, all with some legal content (all the way from 12 Angry Men and The Thin Blue Line to Legally Blonde and My Cousin Vinny). The collection was made possible through a generous donation of legal fiction by Osgoode professor Craig C. Scott, and was named the Barbara C. Scott Legal Fiction Collection in honour of his mother.

The collection is intended for students' leisure time and not for serious academic analysis; consequently, only students and faculty of Osgoode Hall Law School may borrow items from the collection. The collection is located in the Harris-Taylor Family Reading Room in the Upper Library.

Loans are available for a period of 7 days. To borrow a DVD from the collection, bring the empty DVD case to the Circulation Desk and staff will get the disc for you. Please note that the library will charge borrowers for any broken or damaged discs.

For public performance rights, please check the item record in the library catalogue.
