Mock Trial raises $1,500 for Wendy Babcock Social Justice Award. In addition, Drag Show was held March 17 in support of Wendy Babcock Scholarship Fund.

In addition to funds raised for the Wendy Babcock Social Justice Award from this year’s student-organized Mock Trial, the Wendy Babcock Drag Show was held March 17 in support of the Wendy Babcock Scholarship Fund.

The Wendy Babcock Social Justice Award and the Wendy Babcock Scholarship Fund honour JD student Wendy Babcock who passed away in 2013 before her final year of study. Her classmates were so inspired by her courage and determination they raised the money to create this award so that her commitment to social justice will live on.

The Wendy Babcock Social Justice Award is given to a graduating student from the JD program who has incurred significant educational debt in order to pursue their legal education, demonstrated a commitment to serving the public interest, and intends to pursue a career in social justice.
