Osgoode Hall Law School,

External Sources of Funding

Government loans, student lines of credit and bursaries are not the only available sources to finance your legal studies. There are many external funding opportunities such as scholarships, awards and essay contests, and students are encouraged to take full advantage of them.

Often students are eligible for a variety of awards but miss the opportunity to apply because they are not aware of the many opportunities that exist. The process of finding viable sources of external funding can seem like a daunting task, but Student Financial Services provides the tools you need to be successful in your search for external funding.

Make sure you review the external funding available to law students listed in our External Funding Opportunities Site. You need your MyOsgoode login information to access the External Funding database.

Other Sources of External Funding

In addition to the opportunities featured on our External Funding Opportunities Site, students have access to the following sources of funding:

Student External Funding Coordinator

Each year the Student Financial Services Office hires a student who is responsible for ensuring that external funding opportunities are well researched, widely publicized, and readily available to all students.

The Student External Funding Coordinator is also available to meet with students who have questions about external funding. For the fall/winter semesters, the Student External Funding Coordinator will be available to meet with students during set office hours and in a one-on-one setting, to assist students in locating individualized external funding opportunities.
