Osgoode Hall Law School,

Examinations

Students should consult the Student Handbook for details regarding Osgoode’s academic rules and procedures regarding examinations.

Schedules

Unless otherwise specified, all papers and assignments are due on the first day of the examination period.

When enrolling in upper year courses, students are responsible for ensuring they do not have an exam conflict.

Osgoode examination schedules are available on MyOsgoode.

E-Exams Using ESoft

Osgoode offers students the option of either typing or handwriting their examination answers. Osgoode uses ESoft software to ensure students cannot access their files or the internet while typing an exam.

Students who wish to type their exams must register their desire to do so in the fall term and pay a software licensing fee. Students who cannot afford the software fee may request a fee waiver. They may use their personal laptop computer or an Osgoode computer in one of the computer labs.

The Programs and Records Office will email students detailed instructions regarding ESoft registration. Further information can be found on the E-Exam website.

Deferrals and Accommodations

Where students are unable to write the examination or submit a paper at the scheduled date due to medical, compassionate, or equitable grounds that would have a significant impact on their final performance, students may request a deferred examination or deadline extension. The forms and supporting documentation must be submitted to Assistant Dean Bessner. See the Student Handbook for details.

Osgoode provides accommodations for students with disabilities. To discuss final exam accommodations, students with disabilities are asked to arrange a meeting with Assistant Dean Bessner or Nancy Sperling, Manager, Programs and Records
