Providing a response of a firm acceptance of an offer indicates you are authorizing OLSAS to cancel your application to any other Ontario law schools. A provisional acceptance of an offer indicates you wish to hold your place but still want to be considered for other schools.
Osgoode Hall Law School requires a non-refundable deposit of $450.00 at the time of acceptance (firm or provisional). A firm acceptance is required before you can apply for on-campus accommodation or be enrolled in courses.
Provisional acceptances automatically become firm in mid-August (exact date TBA). You do not need to contact OLSAS in order for this to happen. If, however, you you decide to change your provisional acceptance to a firm acceptance before the specified "provisional-to-firm" date, you must notify both OLSAS and the Admissions Office of your request by email. A signed copy of the request should be faxed to the Osgoode Admissions Office at 416-736-5618.
There are 2 steps to accepting an offer of admission:
Step 1: Complete the Osgoode Acceptance Form
A Confirmation of Acceptance form is provided with the Offer of Admission letter. Complete the form and return it to the Law School along with a money order in the amount of $450, payable to York University (this is a non-refundable deposit that will be applied to your tuition fees). The form and deposit must be received no later than the deadline set out in the Confirmation of Acceptance form. The completed form and deposit must be sent to:

Step 2: Contact OLSAS
Applicants are required to respond to their offers of admission using OLSAS’s Secure Applicant Messaging Tool (SAM). In order to do this, log on to your completed OLSAS application, using your OLSAS IT number and password. Then, click on the appropriate link and follow the online instructions. A confirmation number will be sent via e-mail, once a response has been submitted.
After the response is processed, a second e-mail will be sent with another confirmation number.
If an applicant has applied to a combined program (JD/MBA; JD/MES; JD/MA Philosophy) they must first accept the offer to the JD Program. Offers to the combined program are issued separately and are processed directly by the law school and partner faculty.
