Osgoode Hall Law School’s wide selection of joint and combined degree programs offers students a competitive advantage in their area of interest by enabling students to complete their JD as well as a second degree in less time than it would take to complete them independently.

Osgoode’s joint programs offer an exciting opportunity for students to make interdisciplinary links between two different yet complementary programs through concurrent studies at Osgoode and another faculty at York University. Similarly, Osgoode’s combined programs allow students to expand the scope of their legal expertise by pursuing a second law degree at another law school in conjunction with their Osgoode JD. Students must apply and be accepted into both programs independently before they will be admitted to the joint or combined program. Students in the joint and combined programs are awarded dual degrees after four years of study.

• Juris Doctor / Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business, York University
• Juris Doctor / Master of Environmental Studies (MES) at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University
• Juris Doctor / Master of Arts in Philosophy at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Department of Philosophy, York University
• Juris Doctor (Common Law) / Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Université de Montréal, Faculté de Droit

The JD/Master of Environmental Studies (MES) program has enabled me to pursue my interests in law, climate change and environmental justice simultaneously. A great feature of the program is that students can gain credit through hands on field experience (employment, internship or volunteer work). This summer I am working for Ontario Nature as a research and policy analyst. Through the joint program I have had many opportunities to network with professionals in the field of environmental law and to meet students with similar interests at both Osgoode and MES. Ultimately, the joint program is really a perfect fit for me!
