BA (Comm)(Toronto), JD/MBA (Osgoode/Schulich), of the Bar of Ontario and New York

Mr. Crofts is the Executive Vice President, Legal Affairs & General Counsel of the Bentall Kennedy Group, one of North America’s foremost real estate advisory and service organizations.  He is a member of the bar in both Ontario and New York State and has more than 12 years of experience working on complex cross-border transactions and managing challenging situations involving numerous stakeholders.

From 2004 until 2010, Mr. Crofts served as the Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development, General Counsel and Secretary of MI Developments Inc. (Real Estate and Gaming).  In 2006, he was named one of Lexpert’’s “Top 40 under 40” lawyers in Canada, following being named a “Top 40 under 40” in-house counsel in 2005.  From 2002 until 2004, he worked in a variety of multi-disciplinary roles at Magna Entertainment Corp. (Gaming).  Prior to that, Mr. Crofts was an attorney with the Toronto office of the New York law firm of Shearman & Sterling LLP from 1999 to 2002.  He summered and articled at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP.

Mr. Crofts was the top student in the 1998 graduating class of the combined JD / MBA program at Osgoode Hall Law School / Schulich School of Business, winning the Silver Medal in each of the law school and the business school.  He also has a BA in Commerce from the University of Toronto.
