Bindu Cudjoe recently joined BMO Financial Group as Senior Counsel where she supports the Commercial business of the P&C Canada lines of business. She provides assistance with contract review and drafting, interpretation of legislation and common law, review of marketing materials, review of changes to bank policy, new product development, engaging or managing external counsel and advice regarding conflicts of interest.
Prior to this, Ms Cudjoe was a partner in the Financial Services group at McMillan LLP where she represented lenders and borrowers on domestic and cross-border commercial debt financings, including syndicated deals, ABL and cash flow financings, mezzanine financings and first and second lien transactions. She articled and was an associate at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in the Financial Services group.
Ms Cudjoe received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Management and obtained her law degree from the University of Toronto where she was actively involved in the Students’ Law Society, Enterprise Legal Services and various other activities and graduated as Class Valedictorian. Ms Cudjoe was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001.
Apart from being a lawyer, Ms Cudjoe is the mother of three children (7, 5 and 3) and is actively involved in her local community as the organizer of neighbourhood street parties, a member of the school council for volunteer and fundraising activities at Emily Carr Public School, Oakville and as director & vice-chair of Central West Specialized Developmental Services (2004-2012).
