Andrea Gonsalves is a lawyer with Stockwoods LLP. Her practice includes
civil litigation, administrative law, constitutional law, and Charter
litigation, select criminal matters, regulatory and professional discipline
matters, and appeals and judicial review applications.
She has appeared as counsel before all levels of court in Ontario and the
Supreme Court of Canada, as well as various administrative tribunals including
the Ontario Securities Commission, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of
Ontario, the Ontario Racing Commission and the Canadian Society of Immigration
Consultants.
Ms Gonsalves is Adjunct Faculty at Osgoode Hall Law School where she teaches
Administrative Law.
She received her LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 2005, where
she was awarded the gold medal. She clerked for the judges of the Court of
Appeal for Ontario before being called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. Then she
clerked for the Honourable Justice LeBel of the Supreme Court of Canada from
2006 to 2007. Ms Gonsalves joined Stockwoods in 2007.
Ms Gonsalves does pro bono work representing applicants at the Ontario Human
Rights Tribunal, through the Human Rights Legal Support Centre, and has acted
pro bono for the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and the Canadian Public Health
Association as interveners in cases before the Supreme Court of Canada.
