The Honourable Justice Riun Shandler is a judge of the Ontario Court of Justice. He holds an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and was called to the Ontario bar in 1997. Prior to his appointment to the Ontario Court of Justice in 2014, he worked at the Ministry of the Attorney General for Ontario, Crown Law Office – Criminal where his practice focused on large and complex trials and appeals. Justice Shandler is an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School and an active participant in continuing legal education. He co-authored the Law Society of Upper Canada’s Bar Admission Course Materials (Criminal) and is the co-author of Mental Disorder in Canadian Criminal Law with Joan Barrett.
