Rosanna is a partner in Rechtshaffen, Breitman, a boutique downtown Toronto family law firm. Her practice is restricted to family mediation, with a particular focus on complex family law disputes and impasse mediation cases.
Rosanna received her BA in Honours Psychology from Western University in 1992, her LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1995, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997, following which she established Rechtshaffen, Breitman with her partner, Jeff Rechtshaffen.
After several years practicing “traditional” family law litigation, Rosanna opted to focus her energies solely on mediation. She received her AccFM (OAFM) designation in 2004, and eventually, her LLM (ADR) from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2012. She officially “hung out her shingle” as a mediator in 2006, and since then, has been fortunate to have been entrusted with countless families’ cases.
Alongside her private practice, Rosanna also spent many years serving as a senior roster mediator with Peel Family Mediation Services at the Ontario/Superior Courts of Justice in Brampton, and with mediate393 at the Toronto Superior Court of Justice.
For the past several years, beginning in 2022, Rosanna has enjoyed coaching Team Osgoode in the annual National Family Law Negotiation Competition and, since 2026, serving as an adjunct professor at the school. Rosanna looks forward to continuing to share her enthusiasm for dispute resolution with future student cohorts.
