Simmie Palter’s law practice focuses on not-for-profit corporate governance, regulated health professions and health privacy. Her clients include family health teams, physician groups, hospice, disease charities and community mental health agencies. Simmie’s experience in both the public and private sectors inform her current practice, which includes working with clients to create and maintain by-laws and policies that support good governance, and advising about legal duties of directors. Simmie also advises about a wide range of health regulatory compliance, corporate and privacy matters. Simmie writes and teaches about health law and volunteers on the editorial board of the Lexis Nexis Health Law in Canada newsletter, where she is a former Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Simmie is thrilled to return to Osgoode Hall Law School as adjunct faculty.
