Professor Philip Girard first Canadian to give plenary address in U.S. at American Society of Legal History annual meeting

Professor Philip Girard

For the first time in its history, a Canadian — Osgoode Professor Philip Girard — was invited to give the plenary address in the U. S. at the American Society of Legal History annual meeting, held November 6 to 9 in Denver, Colorado.

The title of his talk was “Disorienting: Towards a Legal History of North America.”

Congratulations to Professor Girard on this wonderful recognition!

In October 1999, Osgoode Professor Douglas Hay gave the plenary address to the Society when it met in Toronto.
