Ziyad Edward Akkawi was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997 and received his B.A. (Economics) from McGill University (1991), and his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School (1994). He began his career as an associate at McMillan LLP where he specialized in corporate/commercial law and private company mergers and acquisitions. Since 2000, Mr. Akkawi has held senior in-house legal and operational positions with several companies in the investment management industry.
