Owen Goddard is a partner at Goddard & Shanmuganathan LLP, a litigation boutique that practices criminal and regulatory law (www.gsllp.ca). He has an undergraduate and Masters degree in Criminology and graduated in the top 10% of his class at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law where he won several awards including prizes for the highest grades in Criminal Procedure and Evidence. After graduating, he clerked for the Honourable Justice Moldaver at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Mr. Goddard is preferred criminal counsel for the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA). In addition to his trial experience, he has argued at the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada (R. v. Ahmad) and has appeared at several administrative tribunals, including a Coroner’s Inquest and as prosecution counsel at the Discipline Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
