James O’Sullivan is President and CEO of IGM Financial Inc., one of Canada’s leading wealth and asset management companies with $193 billion in assets under management and advisement.
Mr. O’Sullivan is former Group Head, Canadian Banking at Scotiabank, Canada’s most international bank. In this role, he was responsible for all retail, small business, commercial banking, and insurance operations in Canada, as well as the Bank’s wealth management businesses globally.
Mr. O’Sullivan’s interests in mathematics and finance were cultivated at York University, where he earned a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, followed by a Joint Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business.
Mr. O’Sullvan was with Scotiabank from 1990, and held senior leadership roles in Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Finance and Asset Management.
A community-active graduate, he is past Chair of the Board of Directors at Humber River Hospital, and currently serves as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors of Soulpepper Theatre.
