Posting Announcements

  1. Open the announcements application by going to the following URL in your browser:
    notes://lwdomapp3.osgoode.yorku.ca/myosgoode.nsf/
  2. Click Add New Announcement button
  3. Set the Expiry date
    – Once an announcement is expired on the selected date, it will no longer show up on MyOsgoode, digital signage’s (refreshes every 10 mins.) or mobile app.
    GUIDELINE: Under most circumstances, expiry date should not exceed more than 5 days.
  4. Select a Category
    – Choose the category that best meets/describes your office.
  5. Enter an Announcement Title
    GUIDLINE: Keep the title to approximately 12 words or 90 characters so that it is optimized for displaying on MyOsgoode, digital signage and mobile app.
  6. Under Body, fill in the message for your announcement, if applicable
    – It is recommended that you type your message here and apply basic styling and formatting as necessary, such as bold, italics and links.
    – You can cut & paste your message but it is not a recommended approach. If you do so, check for any formatting issues and make the necessary adjustments so that the content is optimized for the audience (i.e. correct spacing, consistency with font styling and sizes, etc.).
  7. If you want to add one or more documents/attachments, click on Attach File button near the top of the application. Browse and select the file that you want to attach and then click the Create  Repeat for each file that you want to add.
    GUIDELINE:  Documents/attachments shall comply with web accessibility standards.
  8. Select a Priority
    – Use one of the two priority selections:
    Regular – Shown on MyOsgoode within a blue box.  Most announcements fall under this priority.
    ii.  Urgent – Shown on MyOsgoode within a yellow box and an exclamation icon.
  9. Click Save and Close button near the top of the application to post the announcement.
  10. Quality check your announcement on MyOsgoode and ensure that there are no formatting issues: https://myosgoode.yorku.ca
    – From time to time, it is recommended that you quality check your announcement on the digital signages (refreshes every 10 mins.)

Editing Announcements

  1. Open the announcements application by going to the following URL in your browser
    notes://lwdomapp3.osgoode.yorku.ca/myosgoode.nsf/
  2. Double-click on the office name associated with the announcement that you want to edit
    – This will show all announcements under that office
    Double-click on the announcement title that you want to edit
  3. Click Edit button
  4. Make your changes
  5. Click Save and Close button

Archiving Announcements

NOTE:  Announcements will expire automatically according to the set Expiry date.  Deleting (archiving) an announcement is only required if you wish to pull an announcement pre-maturely.

  1. Open the announcements application by going to the following URL in your browser
    notes://lwdomapp3.osgoode.yorku.ca/myosgoode.nsf/
  2. Double-click on the office name associated with the announcement that you want to delete/archive
    – This will show all announcements under that office
  3. Double-click on the announcement title that you want to delete/archive
  4. Click Edit button
  5. Click Send To Archive button
  6. Click Save and Close button
