Using the Library Printers
Submitting Print Jobs Using WebPrint
- Go to https://webprint.uit.yorku.ca:9192/user
- Login with your Passport York account
- Click on Submit a Job
- Select the printer you want to use (see table below for options)
- Click on Print Options and Account Selection
- Enter the number of copies, then click Upload Document
- Click on Browse… and select the file to print
- Click on Upload & Complete

Submitting Print Jobs Using Printer Objects
You can connect the student printers directly to your Windows or macOS devices. Connect to the York VPN to get started.
Installing the Printer on a Windows Device
- Search for and open Credential Manager from the Control Panel
- Select Windows Credentials
- Click Add a Windows credential and enter the following information:
- Internet or network address: yorku.yorku.ca
- Username: yorku\Passport York Username
- Password: Passport York Password
- Click OK
- Search for and open Devices and Printers from the Control Panel
- Click Add a Printer
- Click The printer that I want isn’t listed
- Select Select a shared printer by name and enter the following information:
- \\arruda.yorku.yorku.ca\
- The list of available printers will drop down. Select the appropriate printer:

Changing the Stored Password
After you have installed a printer, if you change your Passport York password, this will need to be updated in Credential Manager.
- Search for and open Credential Manager from the Control Panel
- Click yorku.yorku.ca
- Click Edit
- Enter the updated password in the Password field then click Save
Installing the Printer on a macOS Device
- Go to System Preferences – Printers & Scanners. Then unlock the options
- Click + to add a printer
- Right-click the toolbar and select Customize Toolbar…
- Drag Advanced to the toolbar then click Done
- Click Advanced and input the following information
- Type: Windows printer via spools
- Device: Another Device
- URL: See table above
- Descriptive Name: See table above
- Use: Generic PCL Printer
- Click Add and add the printer

- For the Lower Law Library printer, select Duplexer and click OK
Submitting Print Jobs
- Select Print from the application you are using
- Select the printer you installed to send the job
- Select Duplex in the properties if you want to print double sided
- The first time you send a print job, you will be asked for credentials. Enter the following credentials:
- Username: yorku\Passport York Username
- Password: yorku\Passport York Password
You can save the password in the keychain to not have to enter it every time you send a print job. If you change your Passport York password, it will need to be updated in your keychain.
Releasing Print Jobs
- Sign In to the release station using your YU-Card or Passport York account
- Select the document(s) to print
- When printing is complete, click Done to logout
Using a Guest YU-Card
Follow these instructions if your YU-Card does not bring up your account, or you are using a guest card:
- Swipe the YU-Card
- Click Yes to register under a Passport York account
- Enter your Passport York credentials
- The card will then register and combine balances
