Congratulations to Andrew Harmes ’16 who has been awarded First Place in the 2016 Insolvency Institute of Canada (IIC) Law Student Writing Awards Program for his paper entitled Standing up for Shareholders: Treatment of Shareholders and Equity Claims in Canadian Corporate Insolvency Proceedings.

Harmes will be recognized for his accomplishment at the 2016 IIC Annual Conference & General Meeting to be held November 3 to 6, 2016 at the Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda.  Harmes’ faculty sponsor, Osgoode Professor Stephanie Ben-Ishai, will also be in attendance.  The First Place prize is $7,500.
