JD/MBA student’s new venture helps people keep up with legislative changes during the pandemic

JD/MBA candidate John Wu is keeping busy during the pandemic — and providing a free public service, too.

The entrepreneur is the co-founder of a company called Codify Legal Publishing that has developed a program to help policy experts, legal professionals and others keep up with legislative changes in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.

“With all the changes that are happening, we figured it would be the perfect time for something like this,” Wu said.

Codify Legal Publishing sends a free weekly update covering bills and regulations from every province and territory in Canada to anyone who signs up for its publication.

“The updates have been running for about two weeks now, and we have gotten over 150 sign-ups, made up of law students and legal professionals across the country,” Wu said.

“This publication was originally designed for legal professionals, but it can be used by anyone who wants to keep up with what the government is doing.”

In addition, Codify also recently launched a Labour & Employment Report, in collaboration with Monkhouse and Achkar Law.  Osgoode JD students Jaime Zorilla, Rabab Asif and Jina Aryaan are the student editors of the report.
