The weekend of Feb. 26 to 28 was an exciting and impressive one for Osgoode on the advocacy competition front, with our two teams taking first and second at the virtual Canadian National Negotiation Competition.
JD students Valentina Galvis Chaves and Harkamal Hehar (pictured on Zoom) were the first-place winners, and Jacob Bennett and Anthony Tulipano finished in second-place. Osgoode will now move on to represent Canada at the International Negotiation Competition, which will take place virtually this summer. The CNNC winners from last year – Osgoode’s Alina Butt and Abiramy Uthirakumaran – will also be invited to attend.
This year’s two teams were coached by a team from Dentons – Rachael Andrew, Jessica Hardy-Henry, Alessandro Bozzelli and Jacob Yau – as a part of the valued partnership between the Osgoode Advocacy Society and Dentons, which launches each year with the internal Dentons Negotiation Cup in the fall. Supplemental coaching was provided by Osgoode alumni Karen Mann and Adam Voorberg.
