Frank Au practises criminal law with a focus on appellate litigation at the Crown Law Office, Criminal Division (Attorney General of Ontario). He was Senior Commission Counsel to Justice Rouleau at the Public Order Emergency Commission (2022-23).
Called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002, Frank practised civil litigation at Torys LLP and criminal litigation at the Department of Justice before joining the Crown Law Office. He has acted in over 100 appeals at the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Frank is Adjunct Professor of Public Inquiries at Osgoode Hall Law School, and has taught the Trial Advocacy seminar at Osgoode for over two decades. He coached the Gale Cup mooting teams (2006 to 2010) and served as a Team Leader in the Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop (ITAW). He is Co-Director of Appellate Advocacy for the Ontario Crown Attorneys Association.
