Frank Au is Counsel to the Director at the Crown Law Office – Criminal, Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario). He practises criminal law with a focus on appellate litigation, and has argued cases at all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002, Mr. Au practised civil litigation at Torys LLP and criminal litigation at the Department of Justice before he joined the Crown Law Office. He is Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at Osgoode Hall Law School, former coach to the Gale Cup mooting teams (2006 to 2010), and a team leader in the Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop (since 2007).
Mr. Au co-directs the Appellate Advocacy course at the Ontario Crown Attorneys Association Summer School, and lectures regularly on issues related to criminal law and advocacy.
